The worker’s compensation system in Minnesota pays benefits to workers who get injured while at work. Compensable injuries include both specific injuries and occupational diseases. Worker’s compensation benefits include payments of medical bills, payment for loss wages, and a lump sum payment for a permanent injury. Retraining benefits are also available if the injured worker cannot go back to his old job.
Worker’s compensation claims are not handled in the regular court system. A separate administrative court system is used for these claims.
